“The Making of a Psychic” by Heidi A. Jurka

Welcome to my website!

The Making of a Psychic book cover including image of author Heidi Jurka and informative text

The Making of a Psychic is my personal narrative of adventure and discovery. It is everyone’s tale of learning to cope with being different, and of using our nonconformity to thrive. Some people have perfect pitch and timing, some can navigate complex math equations in their heads, and some people can transform their mental images into paintings, or simply make us laugh… Our diversity makes our world such an interesting and wonderful place to live.

One of my abilities is perception of paranormal phenomena, circumstances which cannot be explained by current scientific theories. Recognition of this capability came as a young child, but it took years to cultivate into a helpful practice to be positively shared. Like all exceptional things, it is often a two-edged sword.

The journey of expanded consciousness has led me all over the globe, pushing through dire setbacks including physical intimidation, to reclaim discernment of incoming information. Creating and publishing   The Making of a Psychic was an evolving, disciplined soul-searching quest. But inevitably it has championed resilience as one of my most cherished, hard won skills.

I hope you enjoy the ride!

  1. Call me Idea for now.

If this was not publicly posted I’m ok with that.

    Heidi,
I just finished watching your reading a few minutes ago. I was a virtual guest at Psychotronics 2025. I spent the day catching up. I was about to shut it down, when I noticed that I had one presentation left and that was yours. So, I played it. . . . There were quite a few moments in the presentation that seemed more than familiar and included some inner kind of confirmation that signals to pay attention. It’s usually a sign to reach out. So, I am. I’m not sure how to approach this. In a way, it’s my way to keep a low profile, I have a life that is similar to life you describe that you had. For me, masters kept showing up, without having to go out of my way. Had talents at a young age. When you said Ossining, I was thinking of Rudi and Big Indian. I went to visit there, 5 years after it had closed. Somehow, it was well kept and there was someone waiting to show me around.

The images of the house in NY are familiar, Reminded me of Ram Dass house, though though I’ve never been to either place. I could smell the smoke. Could it be when you were having that universal conference I was on the call? where we met. I’m skipping a lot, but I was also in Fla for a while, doing hospice work, outside of Sebastian. Synchronistic. Since the beginning of the year, I’ve had the feeling, I don’t know, called, It’s like I’ve been on the bench, and there is something waiting, that’s that I’m needed for and I’m waiting for a moment. Maybe it’s time. I feel like there is some kind of correction I’m needed for. We really need another universal love bomb, about now.

I’m happy to know that you are with us. Thank you for the reading, tonight.
    And other wise Thank you.

Nice of you to reach out. It is a complex and often extremely subtle journey at times. Noticing what rises to the surface as it simmers is a keen approach. Rather than to shoulder and force forward based on the many societal triggers. You are needed, and many helpful tools are finally available to make accessing the info easier. I like the binaural beat meditations by the Monroe Institute as a tool, but fortunately there are other high quality ones out there too. I simply want to validate your approach, not everyone’s true mission lies in leading the pack. You are valued and and believe more defined paths will emerge for you soon. All the best…

    Dearest Heidi,
I greatly enjoyed meeting you at the 2025 Psychotronics conference. I told you then and I say it again, “Your talk was the heart of the conference”. Thank you for the copy of your book. I cherish it and have begun reading it. I was so grateful to also get to participate with you in Darren Starwynn’s workshop. Especially the rite of passage ceremony part. Amazing things have begun as a result already. I feel it. I hope to see you again you gorgeous lady. Sincerely, Jennifer

Jennifer, Thank you so much for your kind remarks, and am so glad my presentation was meaningful for you. I enjoyed spending time with you also. The video of my talk has a few glitches but I think my message still gets through.I enjoyed looking at your website just now and the very important work you are doing. All the best, and do hope we meet again. Heidi J.
